Hypersensitivity (including in the anamnesis), tendinitis or tendon rupture associated with taking norfloxacin or other DRUGS from the quinolone group; glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, children and adolescents under 18 years of age, for drops-up to 12 years (the safety and efficacy of norfloxacin in children and adolescents have not been determined; it should be borne in mind that norfloxacin causes arthropathy in immature animals).

Normax (norfloxacin) is an antibacterial drug from the group of fluoroquinolones. It has a wide spectrum of bactericidal action.
Highly active against gram-negative bacteria: Â Escherichia coli, Haemophilus influenzae, Haemophilus ducreyi, Klebsiella spp. (including Klebsiella pneumoniae), Morganella morganii, Neisseria spp. (including Neisseria gonorrhoeae), Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Proteus spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterobacter spp., Chlamydia trachomatis, Citrobacter freundii, Serratia spp., Yersinia spp.
Active against gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus (including penicillinase-producing strains and methicillin-resistant strains), Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus saprophyticus, and some strains of Streptococcus spp.
They are not very sensitive to the drug Enterococcus spp. and Acinetobacter spp.

Normax is contraindicated in children under 15 years of age, as well as during pregnancy and lactation.

From the digestive system: nausea, heartburn, anorexia, diarrhea; abdominal pain.
From the central nervous system: headache, dizziness, fatigue, sleep disorders, irritability, anxiety.
Allergic reactions: skin rash, pruritus, angioedema.
Norfloxacin solution is incompatible with drugs with a pH value of 3-4, which are physically or chemically unstable.
Topically,1-2 drops in the affected eye or ear 4 times a day. Depending on the degree of infection, the dose on the first day can be increased to 1-2 drops every 2 hours.
Before applying Normax ear drops, the external ear canal should be sanitized (rinse and dry the external ear canal). Drops should be warm (have body temperature). It is necessary to lie on your side or tilt your head back to facilitate instillation.
Drop the specified amount of drops into the external ear canal. Allow the drops to drain into the ear canal by pulling the earlobe down and back. Keep your head tilted back for about 2 minutes. You can put a cotton turunda in the external ear canal. After the symptoms of the disease disappear, the drug should be continued for the next 48 hours.
Or as directed by your doctor. In acute and chronic trachoma,2 drops are prescribed in each eye 2-4 times a day for 1-2 months.
If Normax is accidentally taken orally, there are no specific symptoms.
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, and anxiety may occur.
Treatment – the usual emergency measures, sufficient fluid intake in the body, creating an acidic reaction in the urine to prevent crystalluria. When using Normax ear drops in the recommended doses, no overdose events were observed.
Normax is intended for topical use only.
To achieve the best therapeutic effect, Normax should be used in combination with systemic antimicrobial therapy (with the exception of uncomplicated cases).
Keep the solution and dropper free from contamination.
Influence on the ability to drive motor vehicles and manage mechanisms
Within 30 minutes after instillation of the drug in the eyes, you should refrain from engaging in potentially dangerous activities that require increased attention.
