magnesium stearate,
hydroxypropylmethylcellulose,
titanium dioxide.
Pharmacological action
Normax (norfloxacin) is an antibacterial drug from the group of fluoroquinolones. It has a wide spectrum of bactericidal action.
Highly active against gram-negative bacteria: Â Escherichia coli, Haemophilus influenzae, Haemophilus ducreyi, Klebsiella spp. (including Klebsiella pneumoniae), Morganella morganii, Neisseria spp. (including Neisseria gonorrhoeae), Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Proteus spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterobacter spp., Chlamydia trachomatis, Citrobacter freundii, Serratia spp., Yersinia spp.
Active against gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus (including penicillinase-producing strains and methicillin-resistant strains), Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus saprophyticus, and some strains of Streptococcus spp.
They are not very sensitive to the drug Enterococcus spp. and Acinetobacter spp.
Indications
Acute and chronic urinary tract infections (including pyelonephritis, cystitis, urethritis), genital infections (including chronic prostatitis, cervicitis, endometritis), uncomplicated gonorrhea, gastrointestinal tract (including salmonellosis, shigellosis); prevention of infections in patients with granulocytopenia, intestinal infections
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity (including in the anamnesis), tendinitis or tendon rupture associated with taking norfloxacin or other DRUGS from the quinolone group; glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, children and adolescents under 18 years of age, for drops-up to 12 years (the safety and efficacy of norfloxacin in children and adolescents have not been determined; it should be borne in mind that norfloxacin causes arthropathy in immature animals).

System effects
From the digestive tract: Â decreased appetite, nausea, vomiting, bitterness in the mouth (including after instillation in the eye), abdominal pain, diarrhea, increased activity of hepatic transaminases, ALP, LDH; pseudomembranous colitis (with prolonged use).
From the genitourinary system: Â crystalluria, glomerulonephritis, dysuria, polyuria, albuminuria, hypercreatininemia, urethral bleeding.
Nervous system and sensory disorders: Â headache, dizziness, insomnia, hallucinations, fainting states.
Cardiovascular and blood disorders (hematopoiesis, hemostasis):  tachycardia, abnormal heart rate, decreased blood pressure Blood pressure, vasculitis, leukopenia, eosinophilia, decreased hematocrit.
From the musculoskeletal system: Â tendinitis, tendon rupture, arthralgia.
Allergic reactions: Â pruritus, urticaria, edema, Stevens-Johnson syndrome.
Other services: Â candidiasis.
When instilling in the eye: Â visual disturbances, burning and pain in the eye, conjunctival hyperemia, chemosis, photophobia, allergic reactions.
Interaction
With simultaneous use of Normax and warfarin, the anticoagulant effect of the latter increases.
With simultaneous use of Normax and cyclosporine, an increase in the concentration of the latter in blood plasma is noted.
When Normax is co-administered with antacids or preparations containing iron, magnesium, calcium, zinc, sucralfate, norfloxacin absorption decreases due to the formation of complexes with metal ions.
Pharmaceutical interaction
Norfloxacin solution is incompatible with medicinal products with a pH value of 3-4, which are physically or chemically unstable.
How to take, course of use and dosage
Normax is taken orally at 400 mg 2 times a day.
For severe infections, the single dose can be increased to 800 mg.
The duration of treatment is determined individually. The minimum course of treatment is 3 days.
Special instructions
Normax should be used with caution in patients with epilepsy, convulsive syndrome of other etiologies, severe liver and/or kidney function disorders.
The drug should be taken at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after taking antacids or preparations containing iron, magnesium, zinc or sucralfate.
