Characteristics

Oregano herb contains essential oil, tannins, flavonoids, organic acids, macro-and microelements and other biologically active substances.

Pharmacological action

It has expectorant, choleretic, diuretic and sedative effects. Enhances intestinal motility and increases the secretion of gastric juice, has moderate antimicrobial properties.

Indications

Inside, the infusion of oregano herb is used in adults as an expectorant for diseases of the upper respiratory tract (acute and chronic bronchitis, acute respiratory viral infections); as a means of increasing appetite and improving digestion, with secretory insufficiency of the gastrointestinal tract, with intestinal atony, with enterocolitis accompanied by constipation and flatulence. Externally used for lotions for pustular skin diseases and diathesis.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. If taken orally-pregnancy, age up to 18 years.

How to take, course of use and dosage

2 filter bags are placed in glass or enamel dishes, pour 100 ml (1/2 cup) of boiling water, cover with a lid and insist for 20 minutes, filter bags are squeezed, the volume of the resulting infusion is brought to 100 ml with boiled water.

Take inside in a warm form of 1/4-1/2 cup 2-3 times a day for 15 minutes before meals. Externally used for baths or in the form of lotions 2-3 times a day. The course of treatment is 1-2 weeks. It is recommended to shake the infusion before using it.
