Pharmacological action
Infusion of tansy flowers has an anthelmintic and choleretic effect.
Indications
As an anthelmintic agent for ascariasis and enterobiosis.
As a choleretic agent for chronic non-calculous cholecystitis, hypomotor biliary dyskinesia (in complex therapy).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the drug, cholelithiasis. Pregnancy, lactation period, age up to 18 years.
How to take, course of use and dosage
1 filter bag is placed in a glass or enamel dish, pour 100 ml (1/2 cup) of boiling water, cover and insist for 15 minutes. The filter bag is squeezed out, the volume of the resulting infusion is brought to 100 ml with boiled water.
Infusion is taken orally 15 minutes before meals: as an anthelmintic – 1/2-1/3 cup 2 – 3 times a day for 3 days, then take a laxative.
If necessary, the drug can be repeated after 7-14 days; as a choleretic agent – 1-2 tablespoons 2-3 times a day. It is recommended to shake the infusion before use.
Overdose
When using the drug in doses exceeding the recommended ones, overdose phenomena are possible: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea. Treatment is symptomatic.
Description
A mixture of individual tubular flowers and their fragments, pieces of peduncle and peduncles of common tansy of grayish-yellow, greenish-yellow color, occasionally with dark brown inclusions. The smell is peculiar. The taste of water extraction is spicy, bitter.
Storage conditions
Store in a dry place, protected from light. Ready infusion-in a cool place for no more than 2 days. Keep out of reach of children.
Shelf
life is 3 years. Do not use after the expiration date.
