Pharmacological action
Infusion of peppermint leaves has a mild soothing, moderate antispasmodic and some choleretic effect.
Indications
Spasms of smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract, nausea, vomiting.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;
- Early childhood (up to 3 years).
How to take, course of use and dosage
About 5 g (1 tablespoon) of crushed leaves are placed in an enamel bowl,200 ml (1 cup) of hot boiled water is poured, covered with a lid and heated in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, infused at room temperature for 45 minutes, filtered, the remaining raw materials are squeezed out. The volume of the resulting infusion is brought with boiled water to 200 ml. Take the infusion inside 2-3 times a day 15 minutes before meals: children from 3 to 5 years-1 dessert spoon, children from 6 to 14 years-1-2 tablespoons, children over 14 years and adults-1/2-1/3 cup. It is recommended to shake the infusion before use.
