Pharmacological action
Pikovit ® syrup for children, contains a complex of vitamins that are important factors of metabolic processes in the body.
Pikovit syrup contains 9 essential vitamins for children from 1 year old. The drug is used as a preventive measure, as well as as part of complex therapy to improve well-being in various diseases, accelerate recovery.
The multivitamin complex has a pleasant fruit flavor based on natural grapefruit and orange extract, and thanks to the liquid Form of production – syrup, Pikovit is easy to give to children of the youngest age.
In babies of the second year of life, the growth of organs and tissues continues, all body systems are formed, therefore, the need for vitamins increases, which help to develop normally, improve the functioning of organs and systems, and improve resistance to diseases.
Vitamin A is involved in the synthesis of various substances (proteins, lipids, mucopolysaccharides) and ensures the normal function of the skin, mucous membranes, and the visual organ.
Vitamin D3 plays an important role in maintaining the balance of calcium and phosphorus in the body. If there is a lack of calcium in the bone tissue, the calcium content decreases (osteoporosis).
Vitamin B-1 normalizes the activity of the heart and promotes the normal functioning of the nervous system.
VitaminB2 promotes the regeneration of tissues, including skin cells.
VitaminB6 contributes to the maintenance of the structure and function of bones, teeth, gums; affects erythropoiesis, contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system.
VitaminB12 is involved in erythropoiesis, contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system. B vitamins are involved in the formation of various enzymes that regulate the body’s metabolism.
Vitamin C is involved in the oxidation of a number of biologically active substances, regulation of metabolism in connective tissue, carbohydrate metabolism, blood clotting and tissue regeneration, stimulates the formation of steroid hormones, normalizes capillary permeability. Vitamin C increases the body’s resistance to infections and reduces inflammatory reactions.
Vitamin PP and D-panthenol are coenzymes involved in protein metabolism, in the synthesis of fatty acids and cholesterol, in the production of energy and are necessary for the normal functioning of the central nervous system.
Indications

- for the prevention of diseases of various etiologies;
- with increased loads, both physical and neuropsychic;
- with fatigue;
- to improve appetite, as well as with an inadequate unbalanced diet;
- during recovery;
- to strengthen the immune system, the body’s resistance to colds, viral, infectious diseases;
- with chemotherapy as part of a comprehensive maintenance treatment.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
- Diabetes mellitus (Pikovit ® syrup for children, contains 3 g of sugar in 5 ml of syrup).
- Hypervitaminosis A and D.
Side effects

Do not exceed the recommended daily dose, and if you accidentally take high doses, consult your doctor immediately.
Interaction
Vitamin C enhances the action and side effects of antimicrobial agents from the group of sulfonamides ( including the appearance of crystals in the urine).
How to take, course of use and dosage
The drug is taken orally.
Children aged 1 to 3 years: 1 teaspoon 2 times a day (10 ml of syrup per day).
Children aged 4 to 6 years: 1 teaspoon 3 times a day (15 ml of syrup per day)
Children aged 7-14 years: Â take 1 teaspoon 3-4 times a day (15-20 ml of syrup per day).
Syrup can be given with a spoon or mixed with tea, juice or fruit puree. In the absence of appetite, the syrup should be given daily for 1 month. Repeat the course of admission in 1-3 months or on the recommendation of a doctor.
Overdose
There were no cases of overdose with the drug.
Special instructions
Possible staining of urine in yellow – completely harmless and due to the presence of riboflavin in the preparation.
It is not recommended to take Pikovit together with other medications containing vitamins.
5 ml of Pikovit syrup contains 3.3 g of sucrose,0.7 g of glucose, so the drug is not recommended for children with congenital glucose and fructose intolerance, with glucose/galactose malabsorption and sucrose/isomaltose deficiency syndromes.
The drug contains azo dye E 124, which can cause a hypersensitivity reaction, with an asthmatic component. Such reactions are more common in patients with hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid. Benzoic acid has a mildly irritating effect on the skin and mucous membranes.
