Pharmacological action
Antiseptic agent. Mesta Midin-sens has a wide spectrum of antimicrobial action, fungicidal and virucidal activity due to the hydrophobic interaction of octenidine dihydrochloride and phenoxyethanol with the cytoplasmic membranes of pathogenic microorganisms. The spectrum of antimicrobial activity covers spore and asporogenic microflora, gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (aerobic and anaerobic), fungi of the genus dermatophytes and candida, lipophilic viruses, mycoplasmas, ureaplasmas. Resistance does not develop with short-term or long-term use of Mesta Midin-sens. The drug has no toxic effect and is practically not absorbed through the mucous membranes, skin and wound surfaces, destroys microorganisms without damaging tissue cells. The use of the drug promotes the healing of wounds, burns.
Indications
– Treatment of skin and mucous membranes in pediatric, surgical and obstetric-gynecological practice, in traumatology, proctology, dermatovenerology, otolaryngology, dentistry. – For treatment of wound and burn surfaces. – For the prevention of foot mycosis and interdigital mycosis. Use during pregnancy and lactation
The use of the drug during pregnancy and lactation is possible if the intended benefit to the mother exceeds the possible risk to the fetus or child. Pregnancy There are limited data on the use of the drug in pregnant women (from 300 to 1000 pregnant women, gestational age ≥ 12 weeks), which indicate that the drug does not affect the development of congenital anomalies and its toxic effect on the embryo/fetus. Animal studies have shown no signs of reproductive toxicity. Breast-FEEDINGAS octenidine dihydrochloride is not absorbed or is absorbed in very small amounts, it is assumed that it does not pass into breast milk. Phenoxyethanol is rapidly and almost completely absorbed and excreted almost entirely as an oxidized product by the kidneys, so its accumulation in breast milk is unlikely. As a precautionary measure, it is recommended not to treat the surface of the mammary glands with Mesta Midin-sense immediately before feeding. Before using the drug during pregnancy and lactation, you should consult your doctor.
