Composition

Active ingredient:

dry ivy leaf extract (5-7.5: 1) 7.00 mg;

Auxiliary substances:  

purified water 566.66 mg;

potassium sorbate 1.34 mg;

citric acid anhydrous 0.50 mg;

sorbitol solution (crystallized) 550.00 mg;

xanthan gum 1.50 mg;

cherry flavor 3.00 mg

Pharmacological action

The drug Prospan reduces the viscosity of sputum, helps to remove it, has a bronchospasmolytic and expectorant effect.

The main Active ingredient of the drug is ivy extract, which has anti-inflammatory, tonic and antiseptic properties.

Indications

It is prescribed to patients suffering from chronic or acute inflammation of the respiratory tract, accompanied by a wet cough with poorly outgoing sputum.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Caution should be exercised when using the drug during lactation (breastfeeding).

How to take, course of use and dosage

Inside, children 1-6 years — 1 teaspoon (2.5 ml) 3 times a day, schoolchildren and adolescents — 2 hours. spoons 3 times a day, adults-for 2-3 hours. spoons 3 times a day.

The course of treatment in mild cases is 1 week, after the disappearance of symptoms of the disease for another 2-3 days.

Overdose

No overdose of Prospan has been reported.

Special instructions

The patient should be informed that if there is no improvement, a doctor’s consultation is necessary.

During storage, there may be a slight turbidity of the solution and a slight change in taste, which does not affect the therapeutic properties of the drug.

It should be noted that the preparation in the form of drops contains 47 vol.% ethanol.
