Active ingredient:

dry ivy leaf extract (5-7.5: 1) 7.00 mg;

Auxiliary substances:

 purified water 566.66 mg;

potassium sorbate 1.34 mg;

citric acid anhydrous 0.50 mg;

sorbitol solution (crystallized) 550.00 mg;

xanthan gum 1.50 mg;

cherry flavor 3.00 mg

Pharmacological action

Prospan is a herbal cough medicine.

It has an expectorant, mucolytic and antispasmodic effect.

Reduces the viscosity of sputum and promotes its discharge.

Indications

As an expectorant in the treatment of inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract and lungs, accompanied by a cough with difficult-to-separate sputum.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, children’s age (up to 1 year);

alcoholism and other conditions in which alcohol intake is contraindicated.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Inside children (0-1 years) 2.5 ml 2 times a day.

Small children (1-6 years) 2.5 ml 3 times a day.

School-age children and adolescents: 5 ml 3 times a day.

Adults 5-7.5 ml 3 times a day.

Dosage of the drug is made using a measuring cup. The course of treatment is determined by the severity of the disease, the minimum course of treatment should be 1 week.

To consolidate the therapeutic effect, it is recommended to continue treatment for another 2-3 days after the symptoms of the disease disappear. If there is no improvement in the condition, you should consult a doctor.

Special instructions

With caution, the drug is prescribed in the form of syrup for fructose intolerance. The patient should be informed that if there is no improvement, a doctor’s consultation is necessary. During storage, there may be a slight turbidity of the solution and a slight change in taste, which does not affect the therapeutic properties of the drug.
