Coldox Black currant-replenishing vitamin C deficiency, sympathomimetic, analgesic, antipyretic.
Pharmacodynamics
Combined drug for symptomatic treatment of acute respiratory infections. Provides effective relief of cold and flu symptoms.
The effect of the drug is due to its constituent components.
Paracetamol-has an antipyretic and analgesic effect, reduces elevated body temperature and reduces pain (sore throat, headache).
Phenylephrine-sympathomimetic, narrows the vessels of the nose, eliminates swelling of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity and nasopharynx, resulting in a reduced runny nose and easier nasal breathing.
Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) – makes up for the increased need for vitamin C in colds and flu, especially in the initial stage of the disease.
The onset of action is 20-30 minutes after use, the duration is 4-4.5 hours.
Symptoms of colds and flu (including fever, headache, chills, stuffy nose, sore throat when swallowing).
It is contraindicated to use the drug during pregnancy and lactation. Breast-feeding should be discontinued for the duration of treatment.
Use in children
Contraindicated: children under 14 years of age.
With caution:
Allergic reactions:  sometimes — skin rash, pruritus, urticaria, angioedema.
From the hematopoietic system: Â rarely-thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, agranulocytosis.
From the digestive system:  rarely — nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain.
Other services: Â rarely-increased intraocular pressure, urinary retention.
With prolonged use in excess of the recommended dose, hepatotoxic and nephrotoxic effects may occur.
Phenylephrine hydrochloride may cause nausea, headache, and fever. Blood pressure; rarely-palpitation of the heart. These symptoms disappear after discontinuation of the drug.
Stimulators of microsomal oxidation in the liver (including phenytoin, ethanol, barbiturates, rifampicin, phenylbutazone, tricyclic antidepressants) increase the production of hydroxylated active metabolites of paracetamol, which causes the possibility of severe intoxication with small overdoses.
Microsomal oxidation inhibitors (cimetidine) reduce the risk of hepatotoxic effects of the drug.
Paracetamol enhances the effects of MAO inhibitors, sedatives, and ethanol.
Acute pancreatitis may occur when Coldox is co-administered with ethanol.
Concomitant use of Coldox with antidepressants, antiparkinsonian, antipsychotic drugs, and phenothiazine derivatives increases the risk of urinary retention, dry mouth, and constipation.
Concomitant use of Coldox with corticosteroids increases the risk of glaucoma.
When used concomitantly with Prodrodox, the hypotensive effect of guanethidine decreases.
With the simultaneous use of Coldox with guanethidine, the alpha-adrenostimulating effect is enhanced, with tricyclic antidepressants — the sympathomimetic effect of phenylephrine.
Concomitant use with Prodrodox reduces the effectiveness of uricosuric drugs.
When gastric emptying slows down (under the action of propanthelin), a delayed onset of action of the drug may occur. When gastric emptying is accelerated (after taking metoclopramide), the drug begins to act faster.
Coldox may increase the effect of indirect anticoagulants.
Inside. Adults and children over the age of 14 years — 1 sachet every 4-6 hours, but no more than 4 sachets within 24 hours.
It is not recommended to take the drug for more than 5 days without consulting a doctor. If symptoms persist, you should consult a doctor.
Pour the contents of 1 sachet into a glass, fill it with hot water, stir until completely dissolved and add sugar or honey to taste.
Symptoms: Â epigastric discomfort, nausea, vomiting, pallor of the skin, decreased appetite, hepatonecrosis (the severity of necrosis directly depends on the degree of overdose), increased activity of hepatic transaminases, increased prothrombin time (12-48 hours after use). A detailed clinical picture of liver damage manifests itself in 1-6 days. Rarely, liver dysfunction develops rapidly and can be complicated by renal failure (renal tubular necrosis).
Treatment:  symptomatic gastric lavage, use of SH-group donors and glutathione — methionine synthesis precursors 8-9 hours after overdose and N-acetylcysteine 12 hours later. The need for additional therapeutic measures (further use of methionine, intravenous use of N-acetylcysteine) is determined depending on the concentration of paracetamol in the blood, as well as on the time elapsed after taking it.
You should not simultaneously use other drugs containing paracetamol, as well as other non-narcotic analgesics, NSAIDs (including metamizole, acetylsalicylic acid, ibuprofen), barbiturates, antiepileptic drugs, rifampicin, chloramphenicol.
Simultaneous use of others The drug must be approved by the doctor.
The drug may distort the results of laboratory tests that assess the concentration of glucose and uric acid in plasma.
Influence on the ability to drive motor vehicles and manage mechanisms
When using Coldox, the active components of the drug do not cause drowsiness and do not disrupt the concentration of attention.
