Composition

One bottle contains: 250 thousand IU of Interferon Alfa-2b human recombinant; auxiliary substances: sodium chloride – of 8.01 mg, sodium hydrogen phosphate, dodecahydrate – of 4.52 mg, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate – 0,56 mg, Lipoid 100 (phospholipids [blend with the percentage of phosphatidylcholine 94%]) – 41,18 mg, cholesterol – a 4.53 mg, alpha-tocopherol acetat – 0.56 mg, lactose monohydrate – 91,34 mg.

Pharmacological action

Reaferon EC Lipint-an antiviral and immunomodulatory drug, is a recombinant human Interferon alfa-2b, enclosed in liposomes and freeze-dried.

Indications

Complex therapy of patients with acute hepatitis B, chronic hepatitis B in active and inactive replicative forms, as well as chronic hepatitis B complicated by glomerulonephritis. Treatment of patients with atopic diseases, allergic rhinoconjunctivitis, and bronchial asthma during specific immunotherapy. Prevention and treatment of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections in adults and children. Complex therapy of urogenital chlamydia infection in adults. Complex therapy of febrile and meningeal forms of tick-borne encephalitis in adults. Emergency prevention of tick-borne encephalitis in combination with anti-tick immunoglobulin.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Reaferon-EC-Lipint is contraindicated in pregnancy, lactation and children under 2 years of age.

Contraindications

• hypersensitivity to the drug Reaferon-EC-Lipint;
• severe liver or kidney dysfunction;
• severe cardiovascular diseases;
• epilepsy.

Side effects

When used as indicated in the recommended doses, the drug does not have a side effect. However, given that its active ingredient is recombinant interferon, which causes flu-like side effects when administered parenterally, caution should be exercised when prescribing the drug to individuals with individual intolerance to interferon preparations.

Interaction

Interferon alfa-2b can reduce the activity of cytochrome P 450 isoenzymes and, therefore, when used simultaneously, affect the metabolism of cimetidine, phenytoin, dipyridamole, theophylline, diazepam, propranolol, warfarin, and some cytostatics.

The drug may enhance the neurotoxic, myelotoxic, or cardiotoxic effects of drugs previously administered or concomitantly administered.

How to take, course of use and dosage

The drug is intended for oral use. Immediately before use,1-2 ml of distilled or chilled boiled water is added to the contents of the bottle. When shaken for 1 to 5 minutes, a homogeneous suspension should form.

In acute hepatitis B, the drug is taken 30 minutes before meals according to the following scheme: :  adults and children of school age are prescribed 1 million IU 2 times / day for 10 days; preschool children (from 3 to 7 years) – 500 apiece thousands IU 1 time/day for 10 days or after control biochemical blood tests for a longer time (until complete clinical recovery).

For chronic hepatitis In active and inactive replicative forms, as well as in chronic hepatitis B associated with glomerulonephritis, the drug is taken 30 minutes before meals according to the following scheme:  adults and children of school age are prescribed 1 million IU 2 times / day for 10 days and then switch to use 1 time at night every other day for 1 month; preschool children (from 3 to 7 years) – 500 thousand IU 2 times / day for 10 days and then switch to the introduction of 500 thousand IU 1 time at night every other day for 1 month.

When conducting specific immunotherapy, the drug is taken in the morning,30 minutes after meals, according to the following scheme: for allergic rhinoconjunctivitis, adults are prescribed 500 mg. thousands IU daily for 10 days (course dose – 5 million mg). ME); for atopic bronchial asthma, adults – 500 thousands IU 1 time/day for 10 days, and then 500 thousands IU every other day for 20 days. The total duration of treatment is 30 days.

For the prevention of influenza and acute respiratory infections the drug is taken 30 minutes before meals;adults and children over 15 years appoint 500 thousand IU 2 times a week for 1 month during the rise of the incidence; children from 3 to 15 years – 250 thousand IU 2 times a week for 1 month during the rise of the incidence. In the treatment of influenza and acute respiratory infections, adults and children over 15 years of age – 500 rubles each thousands IU 2 times / day for 3 days; children from 3 to 15 years – 250 thousands IU 2 times / day for 3 days.

In the complex therapy of urogenital infections, adults are prescribed 500 mg. thousands IU 2 times / day for 10 days.

Special instructions

The solution of Reaferon-EC-Lipint should be prepared immediately before use.

During treatment with Reaferon-EC-Lipint, systematic monitoring of the function of the bone marrow, liver, and kidneys is necessary, as well as regular neurological examination of patients.

With fever and headaches, Reaferon-EC-Lipint is effective.
