Composition

5 ml of suspension contains:  

Active ingredients:  

– aluminum hydroxide gel 6 g;

– magnesium hydroxide 80 mg;

– simethicone 100 mg;

– licorice root powder 400 mg.

Auxiliary substances:

guar gum;

sorbitol;

sodium benzoate;

sodium citrate;

methylparaben;

propylparaben;

sodium saccharinate;

sodium hypochlorite;

sodium hydroxide;

peppermint oil;

banana fragrance;

bronopol;

purified water.

Pharmacological action

Pharmacodynamics

Neutralizes free hydrochloric acid in the stomach, which leads to a decrease in the digesting activity of gastric juice. It does not cause secondary hypersecretion of gastric juice.

It has an adsorbing and enveloping effect, reduces the influence of damaging factors on the gastric mucosa. Accelerates the healing of gastric and duodenal ulcers.

Reduces gas formation in the intestines.

Indications

• peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum in the acute phase;
• acute gastritis, chronic gastritis with increased and normal secretory function in the acute phase; duodenitis;
• hiatal hernia; reflux esophagitis;
• discomfort and pain in the epigastrium with errors in diet, after taking medications, drinking coffee, nicotine, alcohol.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Contraindicated in pregnancy.

Breast-feeding should be discontinued for the duration of treatment.

Contraindications

Side effects

Constipation, nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, changes in taste sensations, hypermagnesemia, hypophosphatemia, hypocalcemia, hypercalciuria, osteomalacia, osteoporosis, hyperaluminemia, encephalopathy, nephrocalcinosis, impaired renal function, allergic reactions.

In patients with concomitant renal insufficiency — thirst, decreased blood pressure, hyporeflexia.

Interaction

It can adsorb some drugs, thus reducing their absorption.

Reduces and slows down the absorption of digoxin, Indometacin, salicylates, chlorpromazine, phenytoin, N₂-of histamine antagonists, beta-blockers, diflunisal, isoniazid, antibiotics, tetracycline, quinolone (ciprofloxacin, norfloxacin, ofloxacin, enoxacin, grepafloxacin, etc. ), azithromycin, cefpodoxime, pivampicillin, rifampicin, anticoagulants, barbiturates, Fexofenadine, dipyridamole, zalcitabine, bile acid — chenodeoxycholic and ursodeauxiholeva, the penicillamine, oral iron, and lithium, quinidine, of lansoprazole, mexiletine, ketoconazole.

When taken concomitantly with drugs in enteric dosage forms, increased alkalinity of gastric juice can lead to accelerated disruption of the shell and irritation of the stomach and duodenum.

m-Holinoblokatory, slowing down the emptying of the stomach, enhance and lengthen the effect of the drug.

How to take, course of use and dosage

of Reltser is taken orally,1 hour after meals and in the evening before going to bed or if discomfort, epigastric pain, heartburn occurs.

Before taking the suspension, it is necessary to homogenize it by shaking the bottle.

Adults and children over 15 years — 1-2 teaspoons 3-4 times a day.

The maximum daily dose is 8 teaspoons. Children from 10 to 15 years of age are prescribed half the recommended adult dose. The duration of treatment without medical supervision should not exceed 14 days.

Overdose

Symptoms:  with prolonged use of high doses, kidney stones may form, constipation, drowsiness, hypermagnesemia.

There may also be signs of metabolic alkalosis: changes in mood, numbness or pain in the muscles, nervousness and rapid fatigue, unpleasant taste sensations.

Treatment:  it is necessary to take measures for rapid elimination of the drug: flush the stomach, induce vomiting, take activated charcoal.

Special instructions

The interval between taking Reltzer and other drugs should be 1-2 hours.

With prolonged use (more than 14 days), regular medical monitoring is necessary.

The drug contains sorbitol, which is contraindicated in congenital fructose intolerance.
