Composition

Active Ingredient:

Standardized myrtol 300 mg for the minimum content: limonene 75 mg, cineol 75 mg, alpha-pinene 20 mg

Auxiliary substances:

Rapeseed oil

Capsule:

Gelatin, glycerol 85%, sorbitol,13% hydrochloric acid solution

Auxiliary components of the capsule shell:

Hypromellose acetate succinate, triethyl citrate, sodium lauryl sulfate, talc, dextrin, ammonium glycyrrhizinate.

Pharmacological action

It has an anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and mucolytic effect.

Pharmacokinetics:

It is well absorbed in the small intestine. The maximum concentration in the blood plasma is reached 1-3 hours after taking the drug. Approximately 60% of the drug and its metabolites are excreted in the urine,5% in the feces, and about 2% in the lungs. It can pass through the placental barrier; into the milk of nursing women.

Indications

It is used in complex therapy for acute and chronic bronchitis with inflammation of the paranasal sinuses (sinusitis).

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Due to the lack of specific studies during pregnancy (II-III trimester), the drug should be taken with caution as prescribed by a doctor, provided that the intended benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug; cholelithiasis urolithiasis bronchial asthma 1st trimester of pregnancy lactation children (up to 10 years).

Side effects

Possible allergic reactions (itching skin rash swelling of the face bronchospasm) shortness of breath tachycardia dry mouth stomach pain flatulence diarrhea nausea vomiting increased mobility of kidney and gallbladder stones.

If side effects do not appear after taking the drug that are not specified in the instructions, you should immediately inform your doctor about this.

How to take, course of use and dosage

The drug is taken orally, in adults and children over 10 years of age, half an hour before meals, washed down with a sufficient amount of cool water.

Adults are prescribed 1 capsule 3 – 4 times a day for acute inflammation, and 1 capsule 2 times a day for chronic inflammation. To facilitate sputum discharge in the morning, additionally take 1 capsule of the drug before going to bed.

Children from 10 to 18 years of age with acute inflammation are prescribed 1 capsule of the drug 2 times a day, with chronic inflammation-1 capsule a day.

The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the symptoms of the disease and is determined by the attending physician.

Overdose

In case of accidental overdose, nausea, vomiting, convulsions are possible, in severe cases – coma or respiratory disorders. In rare cases, after severe intoxication, disorders of the cardiovascular system may occur.

Treatment:  vaseline oil in the amount of 3 ml per kilogram of body weight; gastric lavage with a 5% solution of sodium bicarbonate (drinking soda); ventilation of the lungs with oxygen.

Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms:

The use of the drug does not affect the ability to perform potentially dangerous activities that require increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions (driving vehicles, working with moving mechanisms, working as a dispatcher and operator).
