Pharmacological action
Pharmacological group: Homeopathic monocomponent preparation of plant originpharmacological properties: Rhus toxicodendron (Poison ivy) is a multi-family shrub that periodically sheds its leaves, with triplicate leaves, native to the United States and Japan. Chemical composition: phenol derivatives (urushiols); gallic tannin; flavonoid fisetin.
Indications
Key symptoms for prescribing the drug: -pain, bruising, stiffness, numbness; – dry mouth and throat (with fever);- “tearing”, pulling neuralgia; – herpetic rashes; – improvement of all symptoms from movement. Main cases of clinical use: Dermatology -all types of erythematous and edematous or vesicular skin diseases: eczema; infections caused by the herpes simplex virus, including labial herpes. Rus toxicodendron is usually prescribed for primary infection and recurrent herpes caused by herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2 (HSV1 and HSV2); in such cases, treatment should begin as soon as possible: in case of relapses, the best results are achieved when the drug is used before the appearance of bubbles, when only preliminary signs are noted. This allows you to reduce the manifestations of the disease and sometimes even prevent its development. After long-term treatment, the relapse rate gradually decreases;-shingles (improvement occurs faster at an early start of treatment);-rosacea. Rheumatology: rheumatic pain caused or aggravated by high humidity; sciatica with “tearing” pain, pulling pains along the nerve pathways, increasing at rest and decreasing with movement. Rus toxicodendron is prescribed, for example, for sciatica that occurs after the patient has been exposed to rain, or after hypothermia as a result of sweating. Traumatology: dislocations, pain in dislocations after reposition; tendency to muscle fatigue; excessive strain on the muscles. Infectology: influenza, flu-like conditions; microbial infections, especially viral ones (including those caused by the herpes virus), with pronounced clinical symptoms; dengue fever; chickenpox. In infectious conditions, when there is a need for the use of antibacterial drugs, Rus toxicodendron can be a useful and effective supplement. Otolaryngology: hoarseness of voice and dysphonia. The drug is prescribed in cases of dysphonia, which begins when the patient tries to speak or sing and decreases later. This phenomenon is often associated with strong vocal tension; herpetic gingivostomatitis; herpetic sore throat. Ophthalmology: flictenular keratoconjunctivitis; herpetic keratoconjunctivitis; inflammation of the iris. Note: This treatment requires special monitoring.
Contraindications
Individual sensitivity to the drug; lactose intolerance.
Interaction
Other medications may be used in the treatment with Rus toxicodendron.
How to take, course of use and dosage
Sublingual. Granules should be absorbed in the mouth 30 minutes before meals or 60 minutes after meals. For children from 0 to 3 years of age, the pellets are pre-diluted, shaking, in 10-15 ml of water at room temperature and given to drink. The optimal amount per dose is 5 pellets. To determine the dilution, multiplicity and duration of use, you need to consult a doctor.
Overdose
So far, no overdose cases have been reported.
Storage conditions
