Composition

One suppository contains:

Active ingredient:  

Sea buckthorn fruit oil (Sea buckthorn oil concentrate) – 0.5 g (Sea buckthorn oil concentrate is pre-diluted with sunflower oil to the content of the sum of carotenoids in terms of beta-carotene 240 mg%);

Auxiliary substances:  

Butylhydroxyanisole (butyloxyanisole) — 0.00025 g,

Butylhydroxytoluene (dibunol) — 0.00025 g;

base for suppositories:

solid fat (vitepsol, suppository) — a sufficient amount to obtain a suppository weighing 2.00 g,

Glyceryl monostearate (glycerol monostearate) — up to 5% by weight of the base for suppositories.

Pharmacological action

Sea buckthorn oil stimulates reparative processes in the skin and mucous membranes, accelerates the healing of damaged tissues, and has an anti-inflammatory effect.

It has an antioxidant and cytoprotective effect (due to the presence of fat-soluble bioantioxidants, it reduces the intensity of free radical processes and protects cellular and subcellular membranes from damage).

Indications

Suppositories with Sea buckthorn oil are used in proctological practice when:

• hemorrhoids,
• cracks and ulcers of the rectum,
• proctitis,
• after reconstructive operations on the large intestine,
• with radiation damage to the mucous membrane of the lower parts of the large intestine.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, diarrhea.

Side effects

Burning sensation in the rectum.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Rectally, after emptying the intestine, it is inserted deep into the anus.

Adults and children over 14 years of age are prescribed 1 suppository 2 times a day for 10-15 days.

Children under 6 years — 1 suppository 1 time a day; 6-14 years-1 suppository 1-2 times a day.

The course of treatment is 14 days or more. If necessary, repeat the course of treatment after 4-6 weeks.
