Hypersensitivity to the drug, intestinal obstruction, abdominal pain of unknown origin, water and electrolyte metabolism disorders, acute inflammatory diseases of the abdominal cavity, proctitis and hemorrhoids (acute phase), pinched hernia, gastrointestinal bleeding, uterine bleeding, cystitis, spastic colitis, pregnancy, children under 12 years of age.

A decoction of senna leaves has a laxative effect. The therapeutic effect develops in 8-12 hours after taking the drug.

About 10 g (2 tablespoons) of senna leaves are placed in an enamel bowl,200 ml (1 cup) of hot boiled water is poured, covered with a lid and heated in a boiling water bath for 30 minutes, then continue to infuse at room temperature until completely cooled, filter, and the remaining raw materials are squeezed out. The volume of the resulting broth is brought with boiled water to 200 ml. Take inside 1/2 cup in the evening after meals. The course of treatment is 2-3 weeks. It is recommended to shake the broth before use.

Possible allergic reactions, abdominal pain, flatulence, diarrhea. With prolonged use – colitis.
Senna preparations reduce the adsorption of tetracycline.
Symptoms: diarrhea, impaired water and electrolyte metabolism. Treatment is symptomatic.
Pieces of raw materials of various shapes. The color is grayish-green with dark brown and brown flecks. The smell is faint. The taste of water extraction is slightly bitter with a slimy feeling.
With prolonged use of senna leaves, addiction can develop, so it is advisable to alternate their use with other laxatives.
Store in a dry place, protected from light. Ready broth should be stored in a cool place for no more than 2 days. Keep out of reach of children.
