Akriderm SK is a combined drug for external use that has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, antiseptic, keratolytic effects.
Betamethasone dipropionate is a glucocorticosteroid that has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, anti-exudative, anti-edematous and antipruritic effects. It inhibits the accumulation of white blood cells, the release of lysosomal enzymes and pro-inflammatory mediators in the inflammatory focus, inhibits phagocytosis, reduces vascular-tissue permeability, and prevents the formation of inflammatory edema.
Salicylic acid provides keratolytic, antimicrobial action, eliminates stratum corneum and promotes deeper penetration of the glucocorticoid.
Local treatment of dermatoses accompanied by hyperkeratosis: psoriasis, limited and diffuse neurodermatitis, lichen planus, eczema, dyshidrotic dermatitis, ichthyosis and ichthyosis-like changes.
The safety of topical use of glucocorticosteroids in pregnant women has not been established; the use of drugs of this group during pregnancy is justified only if the potential benefit outweighs the possible risk.
During pregnancy, drugs of this group should not be used in high doses or for a long time.
It has not been established whether topical use of glucocorticosteroids can cause their appearance in the mother’s milk, so the question of stopping breastfeeding should be decided.
Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug, skin tuberculosis, perioral dermatitis, rosacea (rosacea), trophic ulcers on the background of chronic venous insufficiency, skin tumors (skin cancer, nevus, atheroma, epithelioma, melanoma, hemangioma, xanthoma, sarcoma); skin manifestations of syphilis, chickenpox, herpes simplex, skin post-vaccination reactions, open wounds, lactation, children under the age of 1 year old.
Topical application of glucocorticosteroids may cause: burning sensation, irritation, dry skin, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acne-like rashes, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis.
With prolonged use, as well as the use of occlusive dressings — maceration of the skin, secondary infection, skin atrophy, sweating, purpura.
When applied to large areas of the body, mainly in children, systemic side effects of glucocorticosteroids and salicylates may occur.
If you experience side effects that are not described in the instructions, you should consult a doctor.
Interaction of the drug with other drugs was not revealed.

In mild cases, it is sufficient to apply the ointment, as a rule, once a day; with more severe lesions, more frequent use may be required.
Acute overdose is unlikely, however, with excessive or prolonged use of the drug, a chronic overdose is possible, accompanied by signs of hypercorticism: hyperglycemia, glucosuria, reversible suppression of the adrenal cortex, manifestation of Cushing’s syndrome.
Treatment. Appropriate symptomatic treatment is indicated. In case of chronic toxic effects, gradual discontinuation of the drug is recommended.
If there are signs of hypersensitivity or skin irritation associated with the use of the drug, treatment should be discontinued and appropriate therapy should be selected for the patient.
Systemic absorption of glucocorticosteroids is possible with prolonged treatment, when the drug is applied to extensive skin surfaces, when occlusive dressings are used, and also in children.
Children from 1 year of age are prescribed the drug only for strict indications and under medical supervision, as it is possible to develop systemic side effects associated with betamethasone. When using the drug on large surfaces and/or under an occlusive dressing, it is possible to suppress the function of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal system and develop symptoms of hypercorticism, there may be a decrease in the excretion of growth hormone, an increase in intracranial pressure.
On the skin of the face, more often than on other body surfaces, after prolonged treatment with topical glucocorticosteroids, atrophic changes may occur; the course of treatment in this case should not exceed 5 days.
Akriderm SK ointment is not intended for use in ophthalmology. Avoid contact with eyes.
With prolonged use of the drug, its cancellation should be carried out gradually.
