Composition

Active ingredient:

rhizome and root of Eleutherococcus prickly-1000 g;

Auxiliary substance:

40% ethyl alcohol – until 1 liter of extract is obtained

Pharmacological action

The drug is of plant origin; it has an adaptogenic effect, increases the nonspecific resistance of the body.

It has a stimulating effect on the central nervous system, eliminates fatigue, irritability; restores and increases physical and mental performance, protects against adverse environmental factors.

Indications

Asthenia, neurasthenia; convalescence (after somatic and infectious diseases); hypotension, mental and physical fatigue.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, arterial hypertension, increased excitability, acute infectious diseases, myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, insomnia, cerebral vascular pathology; pregnancy, lactation; children (up to 12 years).

Side effects

In rare cases, allergic reactions, tachycardia, and headache are possible.

When using the drug, sleep disorders and hypoglycemia may occur.

Interaction

Eleutherococcus preparations enhance the effect of stimulants and analeptics (caffeine, camphor, phenamine, etc. ), are physiological antagonists of the hypnotic effect of drugs that depress the central nervous system (including barbiturates, tranquilizers, anticonvulsants, etc. )

How to take, course of use and dosage

Eleutherococcus extract liquid is taken orally before meals.

Adults are prescribed 20-30 drops 2-3 times a day. Children over 12 years of age – in a dose of 1 drop per year of life.

The course of treatment is 25-30 days.

If necessary, repeat courses are given with or without two-week breaks after consulting a doctor.

Special instructions

Eleutherococcus extract liquid should not be taken in the afternoon to avoid sleep disturbances.

If hypoglycemia occurs, it is recommended to reduce the dose of the drug, take it after a meal, or cancel the drug.
