Pharmacological action

The main active principle of Grippferon is highly active recombinant (genetically engineered) interferon a-2. The drug is absolutely safe for viral contamination, which is very important in the age of widespread hepatitis B, C, D, HIV, CMV and other blood-borne infections.

The mechanism of action of interferon (Grippferon) is based on preventing the reproduction of any viruses that enter the body through the respiratory tract. Already on the second day of using Grippferon, the patient significantly reduces the amount of viruses released during breathing, and, accordingly, the risk of infection of people who came into contact with him decreases.

Indications

• Prevention and treatment of acute respiratory viral infections, flu, and colds:
  • in children from birth and adults, including pregnant women;
  • in patients with frequent and long-term diseases of the upper respiratory tract;
  • in people prone to allergic reactions; in contact with patients with acute respiratory viral infections and influenza;
  • in case of hypothermia.
• Prevention of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza in organized groups (children and adults), among “at-risk” contingents — health workers, teachers, etc. (especially during the epidemic).
• Emergency prevention of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections. Unlike the vaccine that creates long-term resistance to certain strains of the influenza virus, Grippferon is used mainly in cases where there is a real threat of acute respiratory infection (in close contact with the patient, during an epidemic,, etc. ), that is, for emergency prevention. A single dose of the drug for individual emergency prevention reduces the risk of the disease many times.
• Prevention and treatment of avian flu.

Contraindications

-individual intolerance to interferon preparations and components that make up the Grippferon preparation; – severe forms of allergic diseases.

Interaction

The use of intranasal vasoconstrictors in combination with Grippferon® is not recommended, as this contributes to additional drying of the nasal mucosa.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Intranasally. At the first signs of the disease, Grippferon® is used for 5 days: – under the age of 1 year — 1 drop/dose (500 ME) in each nasal passage 5 times a day (single dose — 1000 ME, daily dose — 5000 ME);- at the age of 1 to 3 years — 2 drops/dose in each nasal passage 3-4 times a day (single dose — 2000 ME, daily dose — 6000-8000 ME);- at the age of 3 to 14 years — 2 drops/dose in each nasal passage 4-5 times a day (single dose — 2000 ME, daily dose — 6000-8000 ME). dose – 8000-10000 ME); — from 15 years and adults — 3 drops/dose in each nasal passage 5-6 times a day (single dose — 3000 ME, daily dose-15000-18000 ME). For the prevention of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza: – in case of contact with the patient and / or hypothermia, the drug is injected in a single age-related dosage 2 times a day once;- with a seasonal increase in morbidity, the drug is used in an age-related dosage once in the morning with an interval of 24-48 hours; – if necessary, preventive courses are repeated.

Grippferon Drops:

After each instillation, it is recommended to massage the wings of the nose with your fingers for several minutes to evenly distribute the drug in the nasal cavity.

Grippferon Spray:

To administer the drug, remove the protective cap, insert the spray device into the nasal passage and strongly press the spray mechanism (1 dose — 1 press). Before the first application, you should press the spray mechanism several times until a cloud of spray appears.

Special instructions

Influence on the ability to drive a car or perform work that requires an increased rate of physical and mental reactions.

The drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms.
