Vasoconstrictor. Excites alpha 1-and alpha 2-adrenergic receptors, has an anti-edematous effect. Vasoconstrictor effect is manifested by local application on the nasal mucosa. In rhinitis, it facilitates nasal breathing by reducing blood flow to the venous sinuses.
– hypersensitivity to naphazoline or any of the excipients, arterial hypertension, severe atherosclerosis, hyperthyroidism, severe diseases of the eye, including angle-closure glaucoma, chronic rhinitis, atrophic rhinitis, diabetes, tachycardia, concomitant use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors and for 14 days after their application for solution of 0.05% – children under 2 years of age for a solution of 0.1% children under 15 years of age.
With caution, ischemic heart disease (angina pectoris), prostatic hyperplasia, pheochromocytoma, during pregnancy and lactation.
Reactions due to the local action of the drug:  mucosal irritation, reactive hyperemia, when used for more than 1 week — mucosal edema, atrophic rhinitis.
Reactions due to the systemic action of the drug:  nausea, headache, in some cases in predisposed patients — increased blood pressure, tachycardia.
Do not use concomitantly with MAO inhibitors or for 14 days after the end of their use.
Intranasally (in each nasal passage), adults-1-3 drops 3-4 times a day.
Symptoms: decreased body temperature, bradycardia, increased blood pressure. Treatment: symptomatic.
It is not recommended for use in chronic rhinitis.
With prolonged use, it should be borne in mind that the vasoconstrictor effect gradually decreases (the phenomenon of tachyphylaxis), so after 5-7 days of use, it is recommended to take a break for several days.
