Composition

Orthosiphon staminate (kidney tea) leaves.

Description

Leaves contain orthosiphonin glycoside, triterpene saponins, tannins and other biologically active substances.

Pharmacological action

Infusion of kidney tea leaves has a moderate diuretic and antispasmodic effect.

It also has choleretic properties, increases the secretory activity of the gastric mucosa.

The diuretic effect is accompanied by the excretion of chlorides, urea and uric acid in the urine.

Indications

In complex therapy for edema that occurs due to impaired renal function, chronic heart failure.

How to take, course of use and dosage

About 3 g (1 tablespoon) of crushed leaves are placed in an enamel bowl, pour 200 ml (1 cup) of hot boiled water, cover with a lid and insist on a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, filter, the remaining raw materials are squeezed out. The volume of the resulting infusion is brought with boiled water to 200 ml. Take inside in a warm form of 1/2 cup 2 times a day for 20-30 minutes before meals. The course of treatment is 2-3 weeks. A second course is possible in consultation with the doctor. It is recommended to shake the infusion before use.
