Powercort, 0.05% cream, 15g

Composition

Active ingredient:  

– clobetasol propionate 0.05 g.

Auxiliary substances:

paraffin (soft, white);

liquid paraffin;

cetomacrogol;

sodium phosphate monohydrate;

sodium phosphate dihydrate;

butylhydroxytoluene;

methyl parahydroxybenzoate;

propyl parahydroxybenzoate;

propylene glycol;

purified water.

Pharmacological action

Powercort has an anti-inflammatory effect.

Indications

-psoriasis (except for pustular and widespread plaque);

– chronic eczema;

– lichen planus;

– discoid lupus erythematosus;

– other skin diseases with the ineffectiveness of other corticosteroids.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, pink and juvenile acne, perioral dermatitis, bacterial, viral and fungal skin infections, genital and perianal pruritus, pregnancy and lactation, children (up to 1 year).

Side effects

Atrophic changes in the skin of the face, weakening of the barrier function of the skin, the development of pustular psoriasis.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Externally, apply a thin layer on the affected skin 1-2 times a day until the effect is obtained.

Treatment should not be carried out for more than 4 weeks without evaluating the need for its continuation.

For the treatment of exacerbations of skin diseases, repeated short courses of Powercort can be carried out. If continuation of corticosteroid therapy is necessary, less active drugs should be used.

In particularly resistant cases, especially in the presence of hyperkeratosis, the anti-inflammatory effect of Powercort cream can be enhanced by applying a PE film dressing to the area of application at night, which is usually accompanied by a positive effect. In the future, the achieved effect can be maintained without the use of an occlusive dressing.
