Composition

Active ingredient: Antibodies to brain-specific protein S-100 affinity purified-0.003 g*. Auxiliary substances: lactose monohydrate 0.267 g, microcrystalline cellulose 0.03 g, magnesium stearate 0.003 g. * applied to lactose monohydrate in the form of a water-alcohol mixture containing no more than 10 -1991 ng/g of the active form of the Active ingredient.

Pharmacological action

The drug modifies the functional activity of the S-100 protein, which interacts information and metabolic processes in the brain. Sensitizes the neuronal membrane, modulates synaptic plasticity of neurons. It has a modifying effect on the functional state of brain structures involved in the formation of alcohol dependence: the hypothalamus, hippocampus, etc. In alcohol dependence, it has a normalizing effect on the positive emotional reinforcement system, which leads to a decrease in the frequency of self-stimulation of the lateral hypothalamus. Reduces the burst activity of hippocampal neurons; reduces the number of circulating immune complexes in the peripheral blood, which correlates with a decrease in ethanol consumption. It enhances the inhibitory effects of GABA in the central nervous system. It has been experimentally established that the drug restores neurotransmitter balance and conditioned reflex activity. Increases the brain’s resistance to hypoxia and toxic effects.

Indications

Proproten-100 is indicated for use in adults. It is used for alcohol dependence to reduce the attraction to alcohol and reduce the likelihood of relapses of alcoholism.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

The drug Proproten-100 is contraindicated for use in women during pregnancy and lactation.

How to take, course of use and dosage

It is not intended to divide the tablet into parts. At one time-keep 1 tablet in your mouth until completely dissolved (not during meals). To prevent relapses of alcoholism, the drug is taken 2 tablets (1 tablet 2 times a day) for 6 months; after accidental alcohol consumption, take an additional 2 tablets of the drug 2 times-during the day and at night.

Overdose

In case of accidental overdose, dyspeptic phenomena due to the fillers included in the preparation are possible.

Special instructions

The drug contains lactose monohydrate, and therefore it is not recommended to prescribe it to patients with congenital galactosemia, glucose malabsorption syndrome, or congenital lactase deficiency.
