Composition

viper venom – 5 mouse units of action,

salicylic acid – 1 g,

synthetic camphor – 3 g,

Turpentine gum – 3 g.

Excipients-emulsifier No. 1 (Lanette SH) – 8 g,

paraffin oil solid-3 g,

medical vaseline-7 g,

glycerol (glycerin) – 2 g,

Description:

White or white ointment with a slightly yellowish tinge of color and the smell of camphor and Turpentine.

Pharmacological action

Pharmacotherapy group: Local irritant of natural origin. ATX code: [M 02 AX 10]Pharmacological properties It has a local irritant and analgesic effect. The neurotropic component of snake venom, which is included in the composition, has an analgesic effect; the enzymatic component with hyaluronidase activity accelerates the healing process. Causes irritation of sensitive receptors of the skin and subcutaneous tissue, dilates blood vessels, improves tissue trophism.

Indications

Diseases of the musculoskeletal system and peripheral nervous system, accompanied by pain syndrome: arthritis of various etiologies, arthralgia, neuralgia, myalgia.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, skin diseases (including allergic and pustular ones, violation of the integrity of the skin at the site of application of the drug), active pulmonary tuberculosis, febrile conditions, general exhaustion, severe cerebral and coronary circulatory insufficiency, tendency to angiospasms, severe liver or kidney failure, pregnancy, breastfeeding, intolerance to salicylates, children under 6 years of age. With caution, children aged 6 to 18 years (the need for the use of the drug in children is determined by the doctor individually). Indications in the anamnesis of bronchial asthma caused by taking acetylsalicylic acid or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Side effects

The burning sensation that occurs during the rubbing process usually goes away in a few minutes. In some cases – allergic skin reactions that disappear after discontinuation of the drug. To avoid side effects, it is recommended to first apply a small amount of ointment to the skin to determine sensitivity to the drug.

Interaction

The drug causes hyperemia of the skin and reflexively increases blood circulation in the subcutaneous tissue, and therefore the combined use with other drugs of local action can lead to increased absorption. The use of large amounts may increase the toxicity of methotrexate and reduce the therapeutic effect of hypoglycemic agents. Do not use the drug with oral anticoagulants.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Externally,5-10 g (1-2 teaspoons) of ointment is applied in parts to the area of painful areas and rubbed into the skin 1 time/day, with severe pain-2 times / day until the pain disappears, but no more than 10 days without consulting a doctor.

Overdose

When using the drug at the recommended dose, no cases of overdose were reported.

Special instructions

After applying the drug, you should wash your hands thoroughly. Avoid contact with the ointment in the eyes, on the mucous membranes and on damaged skin. If the ointment gets into the eyes or on the mucous membranes, it is necessary to rinse them with plenty of water. Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms There is no information about the possible effect of the drug on the ability to perform potentially dangerous activities that require increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions (including driving vehicles, working with moving mechanisms).

Use during pregnancy and lactation

The drug is contraindicated for use during pregnancy and lactation.

Form of production

Ointment for external use. 15 g,25 g,40 g,50 g,75 g and 100 g in tubes made of combined material with buckets for packaging medicines or in aluminum tubes. Each tube or two tubes of 25 g together with the instructions for use are placed in a pack of cardboard.

Storage conditions

Store in a dark place at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.

Keep out of the reach of children.

Shelf

life is 3 years. Do not use the drug after the expiration date.
