Composition

Composition for 1 tablet: Active ingredient: Silver proteinate-200 mg, Auxiliary substance: povidone K 30-20 mg,1 ampoule of solvent contains: water for injection-10 ml

Pharmacological action

Silver preparation (silver proteinate contains 7.5-8.5% silver). It has an astringent, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effect. Dissociates with the formation of silver ions, which bind to the DNA of bacteria and prevent their reproduction on the mucous membranes under topical conditions. The mechanism of action of silver proteinate is based on the fact that silver ions precipitate proteins and form a protective film on the damaged mucous membrane, which reduces the sensitivity of nerve endings and narrowing of blood vessels (this leads to a decrease in edema), which in turn causes inhibition of inflammatory reactions. Silver ions also inhibit the growth of various bacteria. Active against gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms: B. cereus, C. albicans, E. coli, P. aeruginosa, S. aureus, A. niger, S. Abony and others.

Indications

The drug is recommended in the presence of the following indications:

• acute nasopharyngitis,
• sinusitis,
• and acute rhinitis.

Contraindications

The main contraindication to treatment with nasal drops of Cialor® for children is individual intolerance to silver proteinate.

To detect a reaction before using the medicine, it is recommended to conduct a test: you need to drop a little solution on the skin in the area of the child’s elbow bend. Burning and redness of the skin indicate that the drops are contraindicated for use.

Please note: if during treatment the baby has adverse reactions in the form of a feeling of dryness, burning or irritation in the nose, the use of the drug should be discontinued.

Side effects

Mild mucosal irritation, burning, itching, allergic reactions (urticaria, atopic dermatitis, angioedema, anaphylactic shock).

If you experience any of the side effects listed in the instructions or if they get worse, or if you notice any other side effects not listed in the instructions, tell your doctor.

Interaction

Pharmacodynamic, pharmacokinetic interaction: not studied.

Pharmaceutical interaction: salts of zinc, copper, lead, silver, mercury, iron, aluminum form insoluble precipitates with the drug solution; the drug solution is inactivated by alkaloid salts and organic bases (epinephrine).

How to take, course of use and dosage

Topically, in the form of a 2% solution.

Preparation of the solution should be carried out immediately before use.

Store the finished solution at room temperature. Use the solution within 30 days after preparation.

To prepare a 2% solution,1 tablet of the drug (200 mg) is dissolved in 10 ml of solvent (water for injection).

• Adult children older than 6 years – 1-2 irrigation of the nasal mucosa 3 times a day for 5-7 days;

Method of preparation of the drug solution before use:

Before using the drug, it is recommended to wash and clean the nasal passages. The duration of treatment is 5-7 days.

If there is no improvement after 7 days of treatment, or if the symptoms worsen or new symptoms appear, you should consult your doctor.

Use the drug only according to the indications, the method of use and in the doses indicated in the instructions.

Overdose

With the recommended method of use, overdose is unlikely.

Symptoms: possible increased side effects. If you accidentally swallow a large amount of the drug, it can cause irritation of the gastrointestinal tract.

Treatment: in case of severe irritation, burning, or itching, wash the mucous membranes with plenty of water for 15 minutes. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor.

Treatment is symptomatic.

Special instructions

It is possible to stain the discharge from the nose in gray or blue.

Storage conditions

The shelf life of Cialor (Protargol) is 2 years. The prepared solution should be used for a period of no more than 30 days. The drug should be stored in its original undamaged packaging, in a dry, dark, inaccessible place for children at an air temperature not exceeding +25° C.
