Composition
Active ingredient:
sodium thiosulfate pentahydrate;

Pharmacological action
An antidote. When poisoned with compounds of arsenic, mercury, and lead, the drug forms non-toxic sulfites. When poisoned with cyanides, it forms less toxic rhodanide compounds. It also has some anti-inflammatory and desensitizing effects.
Indications
Poisoning with compounds of arsenic, mercury, lead, cyanides, iodine salts, bromine. As part of the combination therapy of allergic diseases, arthritis, and neuralgia.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to sodium thiosulfate.
Side effects
Possible: Â allergic reactions.
How to take, course of use and dosage
5-10 ml of the solution is administered intravenously, and 50 ml of the solution is used for cyanide-related lesions.
Special instructions
Sodium thiosulfate can be applied topically to treat patients with scabies.
In case of cyanide poisoning, it is recommended to use sodium hyposulfite and sodium nitrite simultaneously with sodium thiosulfate.
