Composition

Active ingredients:

metamizole sodium 500 mg,

pitofenone hydrochloride 5 mg,

fenpiverinium bromide 0.1 mg

Pharmacological action

Combined antispasmodic.

Metamizole sodium, a pyrazolone derivative, is an analgesic-an antipyretic with a pronounced analgesic, antipyretic and weak anti-inflammatory effect, the mechanism of which is associated with inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.

Pitofenone is a myotropic antispasmodic, has a direct effect on the smooth muscles of internal organs and causes its relaxation.

Fenpiverinium bromide – m-holinoblokator, has an additional antispasmodic effect on smooth muscles.

Indications

• pain of various origins;
• spasms of internal organs (renal colic, biliary colic);
• postoperative pain. spasms of the brain vessels.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Spasmalin is contraindicated in pregnant women, nursing mothers and children of the first three months of life.

Contraindications

• agranulocytosis;
• ischemic heart disease;
• glaucoma;
• prostate adenoma;
• severe hepatic-renal insufficiency;
• hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Side effects

• decrease in the number of white blood cells in the blood;
• drop in blood pressure;
• impaired kidney function;
• allergic reactions.

Interaction

Concomitant use of Spasmalin with other non-opioid analgesics may lead to mutual enhancement of the effects.

When used concomitantly, tricyclic antidepressants, oral contraceptives, and allopurinol disrupt the metabolism of metamizole sodium in the liver and increase its toxicity.

When used concomitantly, barbiturates, phenylbutazone, and other inducers of microsomal liver enzymes weaken the effect of metamizole sodium.

When used concomitantly, Spasmalin reduces the concentration of cyclosporine in blood plasma.

When used simultaneously, sedatives and tranquilizers enhance the analgesic effect of Spasmalin.

When used concomitantly with histamine H1-receptor blockers, butyrophenones, phenothiazines, amantadine and quinidine, it is possible to increase the m-cholinolytic effect of drugs.

When used simultaneously with ethanol, mutual enhancement of the effects is possible.

How to take, course of use and dosage

for adults is prescribed for 1-2 tablets. Spasmalin up to 4 times a day.

The maximum daily dose is no more than 8 tablets.

Dosage for children aged 6-8 years-0.5 tablets,9-12 years-3/4 tablets,13-15 years-1 tablet 2-3 times a day.

Other dosage regimens are only possible after consulting your doctor.

Overdose

Symptoms:  vomiting, decreased blood pressure, drowsiness, confusion, nausea, epigastric pain, liver and kidney function disorders, convulsions.

Treatment:  gastric lavage, use of activated charcoal; if necessary, conduct symptomatic therapy.

Special instructions

In patients with bronchial asthma, taking the drug can provoke the development of an attack.
