Composition

Escholtia extract dry 20.0 mg,

hawthorn extract dry 75.0 mg,

magnesium oxide 124.35 mg,

equivalent to elemental magnesium 75.0 mg;

excipients:

microcrystalline cellulose-122.0 mg,

sodium carboxymethyl starch-15.0 mg,

micronized stearic acid-3.65 mg

Pharmacological action

The drug Sympathil has a sedative effect, eliminates anxiety and associated autonomic disorders, tachycardia and sleep disorders. Biologically active substances of hawthorn extract-triterpene compounds and flavonoids have an antispasmodic effect, selectively dilating the vessels of the heart and brain, reducing the excitability of the central nervous system and myocardium.

Escholtia extract has an anxiolytic, sedative effect, reduces the time to fall asleep and improves the quality of sleep in mild forms of dissomnia. Escholcium alkaloids of the protopin group increase in vitro binding of gamma-aminobutyric acid to brain receptors sensitive to it.

Magnesium improves the regulation of transmembrane exchange of sodium and potassium ions, is an antagonist of calcium ions, reduces the ability to conduct excitation along neuromuscular synapses, to reduce smooth and striated muscles; it also has a neurosedative, antispasmodic and anxiolytic effect.

Pharmacokinetics

Magnesium oxide in the stomach is converted to magnesium chloride, which is absorbed in the small intestine by a passive absorption mechanism, the absorption level does not exceed 50%. Magnesium is mainly excreted in the urine. The action of the components is difficult for kinetic observations.

Indications

States of emotional tension and stress, accompanied by increased excitability, anxiety, increased irritability, anxiety, fear, increased fatigue, palpitations; sleep disorders (mild).

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug Sympathil,
• severe renal insufficiency (creatinine clearance below 30 ml / min),
• age up to 18 years.

Side effects

From the gastrointestinal tract: diarrhea, pain in the epigastric region.

If any of the side effects listed in the instructions get worse, or you notice any other side effects not listed in the instructions, tell your doctor.

Interaction

It is not recommended to combine the drug Sympathil with drugs containing quinidine, because renal excretion of quinidine decreases due to alkalinization of urine and overdose may develop (due to an increase in the concentration of quinidine in blood plasma).

How to take, course of use and dosage

For oral use.

2 tablets 2 times a day (morning and evening) before meals, washed down with water.

The duration of treatment is 3-4 weeks.

The interval between treatment courses is 3 weeks.

Overdose

Taking large doses of the drug can lead to urinary retention.

Treatment: rehydration, forced diuresis.

In case of renal failure, hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis is necessary.

Special instructions

The patient should be warned about the need to inform the attending physician about the aggravation of any of the side effects indicated in the instructions or about the occurrence of other side effects not specified in the instructions.

Influence on the ability to drive motor vehicles and manage mechanisms

During treatment, caution should be exercised when engaging in potentially dangerous activities that require increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions (including driving vehicles, working with moving mechanisms).
