Composition

Active ingredient:

glucosamine hydrochloride 500 mg;

chondroitin sodium sulfate 400 mg.

Auxiliary substances:  

stearic acid,

magnesium stearate,

and manganese sulfate.

Composition of the gelatin capsule:  

gelatin.

Indications

-degenerative and dystrophic diseases of the joints and spine: osteoarthritis of the I-III degree, osteochondrosis.

Contraindications

-hypersensitivity;

– severe chronic renal failure;

– pregnancy;

– lactation period;

– age up to 15 years.

With caution, the drug should be prescribed for diabetes mellitus, a tendency to bleeding, and bronchial asthma.

Side effects

Theraflex® is well tolerated by patients.

Possible gastrointestinal disorders (epigastric pain, flatulence, diarrhea, constipation), dizziness, headache, leg pain and peripheral edema, drowsiness, insomnia, tachycardia, allergic reactions.

Interaction

Improves the absorption of tetracyclines, reduces the effect of semi-synthetic penicillins and chloramphenicol. ­

The drug is compatible with NSAIDs and glucocorticosteroids.

Chondroitin sulfate may enhance the effect of anticoagulants.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Inside. Adults and children over 15 years of age are prescribed 1 capsule 3 times/day for the first 3 weeks; subsequent days-1 capsule 2 times/day, regardless of food intake, with a small amount of water. ­ 

The recommended duration of treatment is 3 to 6 months.

If necessary, it is possible to conduct repeated courses of treatment, the duration of which is set individually.

Overdose

Symptoms: overdose cases are unknown. With an overdose of chondroitin sulfate, hemorrhagic rash, nausea, and vomiting are possible.

Treatment: gastric lavage, symptomatic therapy.

Special instructions

If side effects from the digestive system occur, the dose of the drug should be reduced by 2 times, and if there is no improvement, the drug should be discontinued.
