Composition

Active ingredients:

chondroitin sodium sulfate – 50 mg,

meloxicam-10 mg.

Auxiliary substances:

DMSO 100 mg,

propylene glycol 100 mg

macrogol cetostearyl 12 mg,

cetostearyl alcohol [cetyl alcohol 60%, stearyl alcohol, at least 40%] of 42 mg

liquid paraffin to 100 mg,

vaseline – 80 mg,

kidmodeling – 3 mg,

sodium disulfite – 0.5 mg of

water to 1.00 g.

Pharmacological action

Theraflex ® Chondrocrem Forte has a combined effect: it slows down the progression of osteoarthritis and osteochondrosis, has an analgesic effect, increases the volume of joint movement (in the area of applying the cream), has an anti-inflammatory effect, reduces joint swelling.

Due to the optimal combination of cream components, there is a mutual strengthening of their analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects.

Chondroitin sulfate is a high-molecular mucopolysaccharide that is a natural component of cartilage tissue.

Chondroitin sulfate improves phosphorus-calcium metabolism in cartilage tissue, inhibits enzymes that cause damage to cartilage tissue, inhibits the processes of degeneration (destruction) of cartilage tissue, stimulates the synthesis of glycosaminoglycans, promotes regeneration (restoration) of cartilage surfaces of joints, accelerates the processes of their repair, prevents the collapse of connective tissue. This leads to a reduction in soreness and increased mobility of the affected joints.

Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that has an anti-inflammatory, analgesic effect. Meloxicam selectively inhibits cyclooxygenase 2, disrupts arachidonic acid metabolism, and reduces the amount of prostaglandins (mediators of pain and inflammation) in the inflammatory focus.

Meloxicam is a chondroneutral drug, does not have a negative effect on cartilage tissue, does not affect the synthesis of proteoglycan by chondrocytes of articular cartilage.

Indications

The drug is recommended for use in the complex therapy of degenerative-dystrophic diseases of the musculoskeletal system: osteoarthritis, osteochondrosis of the spine; other joint diseases accompanied by pain syndrome.

Recommendations for use

Externally. Lightly rub a strip of cream from 1 to 5 cm long, the frequency of application is 2-3 times a day.

The required amount of the drug depends on the size of the painful area.

After applying the drug, hands should be thoroughly washed.

The duration of treatment depends on the indications and the observed effect.

After 2 weeks of using the drug, you should consult your doctor.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug (as well as to other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), violation of the integrity of the skin in the places of intended application, children’s age (up to 12 years).

With caution

With impaired kidney and liver function, with severe pathology of the gastrointestinal tract (peptic ulcer in the acute phase), with severe pathology of the blood system, elderly age.

Side effects

Possible allergic reactions from the skin (itching, redness, skin rash).

If you experience any side effects, you should stop using the cream and consult a doctor.

Interaction

Cases of interaction or incompatibility with other drugs are not described.

Overdose

Extremely low systemic absorption of the active components of the drug with external use makes overdose almost impossible.

Description

Cream from light yellow with a greenish tinge to yellow with a greenish tinge of color with the smell of dimethyl sulfoxide.

Special instructions

The drug should only be applied to undamaged skin, avoiding contact with open wounds. Do not allow the drug to get on the eyes and mucous membranes.

You should consult your doctor before using Theraflex® Chondrocrem Forte together with other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, as well as if it is necessary to use the drug for more than 2 weeks.

Influence on the ability to drive motor vehicles and manage mechanisms

The drug does not cause sedation, psychomotor disorders and does not affect the patient’s ability to engage in potentially dangerous activities that require increased attention and speed of mental and motor reactions.

At a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.

Keep out of reach of children.

Shelf

life is 2 years. Do not use the product after the expiration date.
