Thymogen is an immunostimulating agent, a dipeptide.
It has an immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, desensitizing, antioxidant, and reparative effect. It interacts with T-lymphocytes, Langerhans cells (macrophages) and mast cells of the skin, contributing to the normalization of their functional activity and intercellular interactions.
It reduces the antigen/IgE-mediated production of inflammatory mediators, pro-inflammatory cytokines and biogenic amines (histamine and serotonin) in skin cells. Causes a decrease in skin manifestations of allergic reactions with hypersensitivity to various allergens. Suppresses the inflammatory response in response to skin irritants in contact dermatitis. Reduces skin inflammation and itching of allergic dermatitis in the acute phase of the disease.
It inhibits the processes of free radical oxidation in pathologically altered skin cells, preventing their damage and death, and stimulates the production of antioxidant cell protection factors.
It stimulates the proliferation of keratinocytes, fibroblasts and endothelial cells, promoting the regeneration of damaged skin areas. Accelerates wound healing, stimulates cellular and humoral (tissue) protection factors.
Systemic effects are insignificant due to limited absorption through the skin
It is contraindicated for use during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding).
Individual drug intolerance, pregnancy, breast-feeding.
Allergic reactions.
Increases the effectiveness of other types of therapy (cytostatics, radiation therapy, etc. ); it is not recommended to use simultaneously with large doses of corticosteroid drugs.
The cream is applied in a thin layer on the affected area 1-2 times a day (morning and evening). After applying the cream, the affected area should not be covered with a bandage.
The recommended daily dose is 2 g of cream (1000 mcg of thymogen). A strip of cream from a tube with a diameter of 5 mm and a length of 4 cm has a mass of 1 g. Duration of the course: until local manifestations of the disease subside, but not more than 20 days.
The results of the performed clinical studies show that Thymogen in the cream dosage form meets the requirements for external therapy in the treatment of chronic dermatoses (atopic dermatitis, strofulus, microbial eczema and pyoderma) in children.
The drug suppresses inflammation in the focus, reducing puffiness and hyperemia of the skin, reduces itching, helps to quickly restore the integrity of the skin and eliminates its dryness, thereby improving the barrier function of the skin.
In addition, having an immunocorrecting effect, Thymogen increases the protective function of the skin.
