Composition

Shell composition

Water, gelatin, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, sodium lauryl sulfate, diamond blue dye.

Pharmacological action

Combined drug to eliminate the symptoms of acute respiratory infections and colds.

Paracetamol has antipyretic and analgesic effects.

Phenylephrine-alpha-adernomimetic, has a vasoconstrictive effect, helps to eliminate nasal congestion, reduce mucosal secretions from the nasal cavity.

Chlorphenamine is a blocker of H1-histamine receptors, has an anti-allergic effect, suppresses the symptoms of allergic rhinitis (reduces vascular permeability, eliminates swelling and hyperemia of the nasal mucosa).

Dextromethorphan is an antitussive agent, similar in strength to codeine, increases the sensitivity threshold of the cough center of the medulla oblongata, suppresses cough of any origin, eliminates the irritating effect of dry unproductive cough and is well tolerated by all age groups.

It has some sedative effect. It does not have analgesic, narcotic or hypnotic effects. It does not depress the respiratory center and the activity of the ciliated epithelium.

The action starts in 20-30 minutes and lasts 4-4.5 hours.

Indications

• infectious and inflammatory (colds) diseases (including ARVI, flu, rhinitis, rhinopharyngitis);
• allergic rhinitis;
• rhinorrhea.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Contraindication-pregnancy; lactation period.

Use in children

Contraindication — children’s age (up to 14 years).

Contraindications

• hypersensitivity;
• concurrent use of other drugs containing substances included in the composition of toff plus;
• concomitant use of tricyclic antidepressants, MAO inhibitors, beta-blockers;
• deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase;
• blood disorders;
• hepatic and/or renal failure;
• angle-closure glaucoma;
• prostatic adenoma;
• Gilbert syndrome;
• hypertension;
• hyperthyroidism; pheochromocytoma; diabetes;
• asthma, bronchitis;
• lactation;
• children’s age (under 14 years).

With caution:

• angina pectoris;
• hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCMP);
• old age.

Side effects

From the nervous system and sensory organs: dizziness, drowsiness, increased excitability, mydriasis, paresis of accommodation, increased intraocular pressure.

From the digestive system: dry mouth, epigastric pain, nausea, vomiting, hepatotoxic effect.

Hematopoietic disorders: anemia, thrombocytopenia, hemolytic anemia, aplastic anemia.

From the urinary system: urinary retention, nephrotoxicity (papillary necrosis).

Allergic reactions: skin rash, pruritus, angioedema, bronchial obstruction.

Other: increased blood pressure.

Interaction

Increases the effects of MAO inhibitors, sedatives, and ethanol.

Antidepressants, antiparkinsonian drugs, antipsychotics, and phenothiazine derivatives increase the risk of urinary retention, dry mouth, and constipation.

Glucocorticosteroids increase the risk of glaucoma.

Paracetamol reduces the effectiveness of uricosuric drugs.

Chlorpheniramine, administered simultaneously with MAO inhibitors and furazolidone, can lead to the development of a hypertensive crisis, psychomotor agitation, and fever.

Tricyclic antidepressants enhance the sympathomimetic effect, while concomitant use of halothane increases the risk of ventricular arrhythmia.

Reduces the hypotensive effect of guanethidine, which, in turn, increases the alpha-adrenostimulating activity of phenylephrine.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Inside, adults – 1 capsule. every 4-6 hours, but no more than 4 capsules per day.

Use as an antipyretic – no more than 3 days without consulting a doctor.

Overdose

Symptoms (due to paracetamol, appear after taking more than 10-15 g): pallor of the skin, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, hepatonecrosis, increased activity of hepatic transaminases, increased prothrombin time.

Treatment: gastric lavage followed by the appointment of activated charcoal, symptomatic therapy.

Special instructions

During the treatment period, you should not take other drugs containing substances that are part of the drug.

In people with chronic alcoholism, taking therapeutic doses of the drug can cause severe liver failure.

During the treatment period, it is necessary to refrain from using ethanol (possible development of hepatotoxic effects).

Influence on the ability to drive motor vehicles and manage mechanisms

During the treatment period, it is necessary to refrain from driving vehicles and engaging in other potentially dangerous activities that require increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions.
