Pharmacological action
Combined preparation of plant origin.
The active components of chamomile, marshmallow and horsetail included in the preparation help to increase the activity of non-specific body defense factors by increasing the phagocytic activity of macrophages and granulocytes. Polysaccharides, essential oils and flavonoids of chamomile, marshmallow and yarrow have an anti-inflammatory effect and reduce swelling of the mucous membrane of the respiratory tract. Oak bark tannins have antiviral activity.
Pharmacokinetics
The effect of Tonsilgon H is the combined effect of its components, so it is not possible to conduct kinetic studies; all components together cannot be traced using markers or bioassays.
Indications
Acute and chronic diseases of the upper respiratory tract (tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis).
Prevention of complications in respiratory viral infections and as an adjunct to antibiotic therapy in bacterial infections.
Contraindications
– Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, in particular, to the plants of the family Asteraceae;- children up to age 6 years;- patients with rare hereditary form of lactose intolerance, fructose intolerance, lactase deficiency, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase deficiency-isomaltase, the drug is contraindicated (due to the content in the preparation of lactose and sucrose).
Side effects
From the gastrointestinal tract: nausea, vomiting.
Possible allergic reactions.
If there are signs of an allergic reaction, you should stop taking the drug.
Interaction
Interactions with other drugs are not described.
How to take, course of use and dosage
Inside. Dragees are swallowed whole, without chewing, if necessary, washed down with water.
In the acute period of development of the disease, adults – 2 tablets 5-6 times/day, school-age children (older than 6 years) – 1 tablet 5-6 times/day.
After the disappearance of acute symptoms of the disease (sore throat), continue treatment with the drug for another 1 week;
adults after the disappearance of acute symptoms are prescribed 2 tablets 3 times/day, school-age children (older than 6 years) – 1 tablet 3 times/day.
Overdose
So far, no overdose cases have been reported.
Symptoms: Â in case of overdose, side effects from the gastrointestinal tract may increase.
Treatment: Â symptomatic.
Special instructions
If symptoms persist or the patient’s condition worsens when using the drug for 7 days, you should consult a doctor.
One tablet contains less than 0.03 counted ” bread units “(XE).
The combination of Tonsilgon with antibacterial agents is possible and appropriate.
