Pharmacological action
Isoconazole is a synthetic derivative of imidazole.
Travogen has a local antifungal and antibacterial effect. It acts fungistatically, with increasing concentration — fungicidal. Inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol and changes the composition of the microbial cell membrane.
Active against dermatophytes Trichophyton spp., Microsporum spp., Epidermophyton spp., mold, yeast and yeast-like fungi (Candida spp., Pityrosporum orbiculare), as well as Corynebacterium minutissimum-the causative agent of erythrasma and gram-positive bacteria Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp.
Indications
- fungal skin lesions, including secondary infected ones (mycoses of the feet and smooth skin, including those with localization in the folds, the area of the external genitalia-microsporia, trichophytosis, rubrophytosis);
- epidermophytosis;
- candidiasis;
- multi-colored (pityriasis) lichen;
- erythrasma.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of Travogen.
Side effects
Travogen is usually well tolerated, even when applied to sensitive skin.
Rarely, irritation may develop (burning and itching sensation, erythema), extremely rarely-allergic skin reactions.
How to take, course of use and dosage
Externally. Travogen is applied in a thin layer to the affected areas of the skin and lightly rubbed 1 time a day.
The course of treatment is usually 2-3 weeks, with the localization of mycoses in the folds-up to 4 weeks. A longer course of treatment is also possible.
To prevent relapse, treatment should be continued for 2 weeks after the resolution of clinical manifestations.
