Pharmacological action
Pharmacodynamics
Triovit contains antioxidant vitamins C and E, beta-carotene (provitamin A), and the oligoelement selenium.
Fat-soluble antioxidants-vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol) and provitamin A (beta-carotene) protect membrane lipids from oxidation by free radicals formed in the cell, neutralize free radicals by blocking their unpaired electron.
Vitamin E acts as an anti-atherogenic agent, prevents the oxidation of low-density lipoproteins, and reduces the risk of cholesterol plaque formation in blood vessels.
Water-soluble ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is involved in the bioregeneration of alpha-tocopherol, protecting it from destruction.
The antioxidant enzyme glutathione peroxidase, which includes selenium, neutralizes the most toxic products of free radical oxidation – lipoperoxides, which prevents the formation of toxic aldehydes and new free radicals.
Free radicals have a negative impact on health, in the event that an excessive amount of them is formed in the body.
The body’s own defense systems can no longer maintain the balance of free radicals, which leads to cell damage.
Antioxidant vitamins are active at the cellular level, they complement each other’s activity, so the combination of vitamins (vit. A, E, C) and selenium is rational.
The protective properties of antioxidant vitamins are manifested in increasing the body’s resistance to adverse environmental factors, strengthening the body’s protective properties, anti-inflammatory effect, and slowing down the aging process of the body.
