Composition

100 g liquid extract of the roots of pelargonium sidovidii EPs 7630 (1: 8-10)80 g

Auxiliary substances:

glycerol 85% – 20 g.

Extractant:

ethanol 11% (wt/wt).

Pharmacological action

Phytopreparation used for infectious diseases of ENT organs.

It has an antibacterial effect, has mucolytic properties. Promotes the increase of non-specific resistance of the body.

Pharmacokinetics

The effect of Umckalor is the combined effect of the components of a liquid extract of the roots of pelargonium sidovidae, so it is not possible to conduct kinetic studies.

Indications

As part of complex therapy: acute and chronic infections of the respiratory tract, ear, throat and nose (including sinusitis, rhinopharyngitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis).

Contraindications

• Severe liver/kidney diseases;
• predisposition to bleeding;
• pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding);
• children under 1 year of age;
• hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

With caution, the drug should be used in alcoholism, traumatic brain injury, brain diseases, impaired liver and kidney function (no experience of use), in children older than 1 year

Side effects

The drug is characterized by good tolerability.

From the digestive system: rarely-nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, diarrhea.

Other: possible allergic reactions.

Interaction

With the simultaneous use of Umckalor with coumarin derivatives, it is possible to increase the anticoagulant effect.

How to take, course of use and dosage

• Adults and children over 12 years of age are prescribed 20-30 drops 3 times/day,
• children aged 6 to 12 years-10-20 drops 3 times/day,
• children from 1 to 6 years-5-10 drops 3 times/day.

The drug should be taken 30 minutes before meals with a small amount of liquid. When dosing the drug, the bottle should be held vertically, if necessary tapping on the bottom of the bottle.

The average duration of treatment is 10 days. After the symptoms of the disease disappear, it is recommended to continue treatment for several days to prevent relapse

Overdose

Currently, there are no known cases of overdose of the drug Umckalor.

Special instructions

During storage, liquid plant extracts tend to become cloudy, but this does not affect their pharmacological effectiveness, since Umckalor is a natural product, minor changes in the color and taste of the drug are possible.

Due to the ethanol content (12% / vol. ) in the preparation, the maximum single dose for children over 12 years of age and adults contains 0.125 g of absolute ethyl alcohol, the maximum daily dose for children over 12 years of age and adults contains 0.375 g of absolute ethyl alcohol. A single dose for children under 12 years of age contains less than 0.1 g of absolute ethyl alcohol.

Influence on the ability to drive motor vehicles and manage mechanisms

When using the drug, caution should be exercised when engaging in potentially dangerous activities that require increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions.
