Composition

The bandage is made of:

• 80% cotton.
• 15% polyester.
• Lycra 5%.

Indications

• Treatment of varicose veins of III-IV degree.

• Treatment of traumatic joint injuries (sprains, dislocations, bruises).

Recommendations for use

To achieve the necessary functional result that you want to achieve from the use of an elastic compression bandage, it is important to observe the following requirements for elastic bandaging of the lower extremities: :

• Elastic bandaging should be performed in the morning, before getting out of bed, preferably lying in bed.
• The bandage should be applied with the back flexion of the foot, in uniform turns without folds, in order to exclude skin injury during movement.
• It is always necessary to start dressing from the proximal joints of the toes with mandatory heel bandaging and the formation of a so-called lock with a turn of the bandage, which will prevent the bandage from slipping off when walking.
• The roll of the bandage should be unwound outwards in the immediate vicinity of the skin, which will prevent the bandage from overstretching and creating too high compression.
• Each round of the bandage should overlap the previous one by 30-50%.
• For better fixation of the elastic bandage on the extremity, especially on the hip, it is necessary to use the application of bandage rounds alternately in the ascending and descending directions with the formation of the so-called herringbone.
• The proximal edge of compression should be 10-15 cm higher than the area of valvular insufficiency of the limb segment.
• When applying an elastic bandage in places of natural deformation (ankle area) of the limb shape, it is necessary to model the cylindrical profile of the limb using latex and foam rollers.

When a compression bandage is applied correctly, the fingertips turn slightly blue at rest, and at the beginning of movement they restore their normal color. After applying an elastic bandage, the patient is asked to walk for 20-30 minutes. The appearance of numbness of the toes, a feeling of pulsation under the bandages, the appearance of pain means the wrong choice of the degree of compression of the elastic bandage and the need for its correction.
