Pharmacological action

Validol is a corona dilating (reflex) medication.

Pharmacodynamics

It has a sedative effect, has a moderate reflex vasodilating effect due to irritation of sensitive nerve endings. It stimulates the production and release of enkephalins, endorphins and a number of other peptides, kinins (due to irritation of mucosal receptors), which are actively involved in the regulation of vascular permeability, the formation of pain. With sublingual use, the therapeutic effect occurs on average in 5 minutes, while up to 70% of the drug is released within 3 minutes.

Dextrose (glucose) is involved in various metabolic processes in the body, enhances redox processes in the body.

Pharmacokinetics

When applied sublingually, it is absorbed from the oral mucosa. After absorption, it is biotransformed in the liver and excreted by the kidneys in the form of glucuronides. Dextrose is completely absorbed by the body, it is not excreted by the kidneys (the appearance in the urine is a pathological sign).

Indications

Contraindications

Overdose

Symptoms: headache, nausea, agitation, heart failure, falling blood pressure, central nervous system depression.
