Pharmacological action

Vaseline oil is a laxative.

Softens fecal matter; has a weak stimulating effect on the motility of the small intestine.

Indications

Constipation. Vaseline oil can be used as an external remedy (in children) and as a base for various ointments.

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity,
• inflammatory processes in the abdominal cavity,
• intestinal bleeding,
• intestinal obstruction,
• ichoradic syndrome,
• pregnancy.

Side effects

With prolonged use – intestinal atony, hypovitaminosis A, E, K.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Vaseline oil is taken orally,15-30 ml per day.
