Active ingredient: polyvinyl butyl ether (Shostakovsky’s balm)
Pharmacological action
Vinilin (Shostakovsky’s Balm) has an antimicrobial effect, promotes wound cleansing, tissue regeneration and epithelialization.
When taken orally, it acts as an enveloping, anti-inflammatory and bacteriostatic agent.
Indications
Externally:
- boils
- trophic ulcers
- mastitis
- burns and frostbite.
Inside: in the complex treatment of erosive and ulcerative diseases of the stomach and duodenum 12, exacerbation of chronic gastritis with increased secretory function of the stomach.
Contraindications
- hypersensitivity,
- liver,
- gallbladder and kidney diseases.

How to take, course of use and dosage
Externally: (for wetting napkins and applying directly to the wound surface) in sufficient quantity.
Inside: 1 time a day 5-6 hours after the last meal (a light dinner is recommended at 18 o’clock and taking the drug at 23-24 o’clock); for peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum – 1 teaspoon on the first day, in subsequent days – 1 dessert spoon; course – 16-20 days; for gastritis with increased secretory function and pronounced heartburn – on the first day – 1 teaspoon, then – 1 dessert spoon every other day, the course – for 10-12 days.
