Characteristics
Violet grass contains anthocyanins, carotenoids, ascorbic acid, flavanoids, saponins, tannins, polysaccharides, essential oil (containing methyl salicylate).
Pharmacological action
The infusion of violet grass has an expectorant and anti-inflammatory effect, shows moderate choleretic and diuretic properties.
Indications
In the complex therapy of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the respiratory system (tracheitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, whooping cough).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the drug, gastritis, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum during exacerbation, cholelithiasis, pregnancy, lactation, children under 12 years of age.
Side effects

How to take, course of use and dosage
About 8 g (2 tablespoons) of violet grass is placed in an enamel bowl,200 ml (1 cup) of cooled boiled water is poured, covered with a lid and heated in a boiling water bath with periodic stirring for 15 minutes, cooled at room temperature for 45 minutes, filtered, the remaining raw materials are squeezed out. The volume of the resulting infusion is brought with boiled water to 200 ml. Take inside in a warm form of 1/3 -1 / 2 cups 2-3 per day. The course of treatment is 2-3 weeks. A second course is possible after consulting a doctor. It is recommended to shake the infusion before use.
