Composition

of 1 g of cream contains 20 mg of the active ingredient – sertaconazole nitrate, as well as excipients:

ethylene glycol and polyethylene glycol palmitostearate,

polyglycolized saturated glycerides,

glycerol isostearate,

paraffin oil,

methyl p-hydroxybenzoate,

sorbic acid,

purified water.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Sertaconazole is a topical imidazole derivative with a broad spectrum of action against pathogenic fungi (Candida albicans, C. Tropicalis, C. Spp., Pityrosporum orbiculare), dermatophytes (Trichophyton, Epidermophyton and Microsporum) and pathogens of skin and mucous membrane infections (gram-positive strains of staphylococci and streptococci).

The mechanism of action of sertaconazole is to inhibit the synthesis of ergosterol, the main sterol of fungal and yeast membranes, and increase the permeability of the cell membrane, which leads to lysis of the fungal cell.

Pharmacokinetics

When applied topically, sertaconazole nitrate is not detected in the blood and urine.

Indications

Topical treatment of superficial skin mycoses: dermatomycosis, Tinea pedis (athlete’s foot), Tinea crusis, Tinea corporis, Tinea barbae (beard mycosis), Tinea manus, candidiasis (Monolisiasis), and Pityiriasis versicolor (Pityrosporum orbiculare).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to antifungal agents (imidazole derivatives) or cream excipients.

Side effects

Contact dermatitis.

Rapid local erythematous reactions are possible, which does not require discontinuation of the drug.

How to take, course of use and dosage

The cream is applied to the affected areas of the skin in a uniform thin layer twice a day with the capture of approximately 1 cm of the surface of healthy skin.

The duration of treatment depends on the etiology of the pathogen and the location of the infection. As a rule, the symptoms of the disease disappear after 2-4 weeks. The recommended duration of treatment is 4 weeks.
