Composition
The composition of one dose of the drug includes:
- Vitamin E (100 mg). It acts as an active component.
- Excipients (100 mg). Refined deodorized sunflower oil.
- Gelatin, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (nipagin), glycerol (glycerol), dye azorubin (acid red dye 2C). These substances form the shell of vitamin E.
Pharmacological action
Vitamin E belongs to the group of antioxidants. The substance performs the following functions in the human body:
- Prevents oxidative processes in cell membranes.
- It has a stimulating effect on the synthesis of heme and heme-containing enzymes-hemoglobin, cytochromes, myoglobin, peroxidase, catalase.
- Inhibits cholesterol synthesis.
- Inhibits the saturation of saturated fatty acids.
- Prevents hemolysis of red blood cells, fragility and permeability of capillaries.
- Prevents disruption of the functions of the placenta, seminal tubules and testicles.
- Promotes normalization of reproductive function.
- Prevents the development of atherosclerosis and degenerative-dystrophic changes in skeletal muscles and heart muscle.
Indications
Taking vitamin E, which is produced by JSC “Marbiopharm”, is indicated in the following cases: :
- Treatment of hypovitaminosis E.
- Complex therapy of dermatomyositis, muscular dystrophy, myocardial dystrophy, atherosclerosis, threat of termination of pregnancy, menstrual disorders, psoriasis, dermatosis, disorders of the genital glands in men.
- Prevention of negative consequences that occur when living in a bad environment (the product acts as an antioxidant).
Contraindications
Taking vitamin E is contraindicated in children, people with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, as well as people who are in a state of acute myocardial infarction.
With caution, the drug should be taken after a previous myocardial infarction and at an increased risk of thromboembolism, as well as in patients with hypoprothrombinemia and severe cardiosclerosis.
Side effects
When taking vitamin E, allergic reactions and dyspepsia may occur.
With long-term therapy in doses of 400-800 units/day, dizziness, blurred visual perception, increased fatigue, nausea, headaches, asthenia, gastralgia, diarrhea are noted. If the dose is increased to more than 800 units / day for a long period of treatment, manifestations may occur in the form of impaired thyroid hormone metabolism, an increased risk of bleeding in people with hypovitaminosis K, thrombophlebitis, sexual function disorders, necrotic colitis, thromboembolism, hepatomegaly, sepsis, renal failure, hyperbilirubinemia, ascites, hemorrhagic stroke, and retinal hemorrhages.
To eliminate side effects, glucocorticosteroids are prescribed together with symptomatic treatment against the background of vitamin E withdrawal.
Interaction
Vitamin E produced by JSC “Marbiopharm” enhances the effect of anti-inflammatory nonsteroidal drugs, antiepileptic drugs, glucocorticosteroids, cardiac glycosides. This reduces the effectiveness of vitamins of group A and D. To avoid overdose, the simultaneous use of vitamin complexes, which include vitamin E, is not recommended.
How to take, course of use and dosage
Vitamin E should be taken orally after meals in a dosage of 100-300 mg / day. If necessary, the dose can be increased to 1 g / day.
If spermatogenesis disorders are detected, vitamin E intake is prescribed in combination with hormone therapy at 100-300 mg/day (the duration of therapy is 1 month).
Patients suffering from diseases of the neuromuscular system, taking vitamin E is indicated at a dosage of 100 mg / day for 1-2 months. A second course of therapy is possible in 2-3 months.
If there is a threat of termination of pregnancy, the recommended dose is 100 mg / day (the duration of therapy is from 1 to 2 weeks). If the intrauterine state of the fetus worsens and with a habitual abortion, vitamin E is taken at 100 mg / day.
In the treatment of dermatological diseases, patients are prescribed a dose of 100 mg/day (duration of use-20-40 days).
For people suffering from peripheral vascular diseases, atherosclerosis or myocardial dystrophy, the recommended dose is 100 mg / day. Therapy is carried out for 20-40 days together with vitamin A. A second course of treatment is possible in 2-3 months.
